AVI TENENBAUM PFA
Psychological First Aid
AVI TENENBAUM PFA is a provider of local and international training and education in psychological first aid.
“PFA” or 'psychological first aid' is a method and set of psycho-social interventions experts worldwide use to support people during an ongoing crisis or immediately thereafter. While everybody has heard of people with trauma seeking help from a mental health professional months or years after a trauma event, PFA focuses on how to support people during or immediately after an emergency or catastrophic loss until one month’s time after the event occurred, which is the window of time often referred to as the acute stage of people’s reaction to trauma.
We work with mental health and medical professionals, educators, organizations, community leaders, law enforcement, EMS, fire, military, and search and rescue to help individuals and communities develop mental resilience to overcome trauma.
Our Purpose
Our Approach
We exist to change the way people experience negative events by developing training programs, events and courses that teach people to become mentally resilient. We believe that the ability to adapt and recover from adversity, stress, and challenging life situations is the cornerstone of our general wellbeing, personal growth, healthy relationships and professional success; and that PFA is a route to achieve this.
Our approach is unique in that we offer acute support and training for domestic crises as well as large-scale traumatic events. Our primary goal is to build mentally resilient and safer communities around the world. Since its founding, our company has been sharing these tools with thousands of people across four continents.
